RideByHeart is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your workout data is yours alone, and we've built the app to reflect that principle.
Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
Specifically:
- No user accounts or registration required
- No analytics or tracking services
- No cloud storage or data syncing
- No advertising or third-party data sharing
- No cookies or web tracking (on this website)
Local Data Storage
All workout recordings and app settings are stored locally on your device only. This includes:
- Workout recordings (heart rate, power, cadence, duration)
- FTP and maximum heart rate settings
- App preferences and configuration
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it (e.g., via TCX file export for Strava upload).
Bluetooth Connectivity
RideByHeart uses Bluetooth to connect to your smart trainer and heart rate monitor. This communication:
- Occurs entirely locally between your device and fitness equipment
- Is not transmitted over the internet
- Is not stored or accessible by us
TestFlight Beta Testing
During the beta testing phase, Apple's TestFlight may collect:
- Crash reports and diagnostic data
- Device information (model, OS version)
- App usage metrics
This data is collected and managed by Apple under their Privacy Policy. We may receive anonymized crash reports to help improve app stability.
Future Features
If we add features that involve data transmission (such as direct Strava integration), we will:
- Update this privacy policy
- Make such features entirely optional
- Clearly explain what data is shared and with whom
- Require explicit user consent
Children's Privacy
RideByHeart is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated through TestFlight or app updates.
